Sisters Helping Sisters Thank You to any and all that have helped with our efforts in showing support for our sister, Michelle Bokermann. Following is a letter of appreciation from her and pictures of the family your donations have gone towards.
Dear the women of Delta Zeta (active members and Alumni), I wanted to thank everyone for all of the thoughts, prayers and support you have given to my family and I throughout this difficult year. I can hardly believe it has been a year since my sister-in-law, Leah, passed away. It is amazing how quickly your life can change in such a short amount of time. We miss her a lot with some days being better than others, but we are constantly inspired to live our lives to the fullest as Leah always did. I thought I would give you a quick update as to what we have been up to lately. Preparations are underway to throw my niece, Kinley, quite a 1st birthday bash with her cousin Jack! It promises to be a good time with family and friends! She is getting so big and looking more and more like her mommy every day. She is a knockout with quite an attitude, knowing what she wants and how to get it---definitely a Delt in the making! She and my brother, Mark, moved back to St. Louis in the Spring and are getting ready to move into a house in West County. I have enjoyed every second of being an aunt. Kinley and I have established a very special bond and I feel fortunate to play such an active role in her life. I know you all have a lot going on in your own lives and I am touched by all you have done for me and my family! I am constantly reminded of the power of sisterhood. Back in our day we used to joke and say, “Delta Zeta is not 4 years, it’s 4-life.” What’s ironic is that it really is something that you carry with you throughout your life. I never would have imagined that I would be the one that would be needing such a support, but you don’t know what life will throw your way. I have never been more proud to be part of an organization. Delta Zeta and all of you will always hold a special place in my heart! Everything happens for a reason and now I know why Delta Zeta was brought into my life! God bless you all and I wish you all the very best in all that you do! In DZ love and mine, Michelle Bokermann Fall ‘96
